Freelance experienced JAVA developer with RUST skills

We are an innovative company focused on delivering high-quality software solutions. As we expand our team, we are looking for a highly skilled software developer with expertise in Rust and Java to help us tackle challenging projects.

Preferred startdate: ASAP

Duration: 6 months contract

Rate: to be discussed

Your role

• Design, develop, and maintain robust software applications using Rust and Java.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

• Ensure code quality through best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.

• Contribute to architecture decisions and performance optimization.

• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and advocate for their adoption when appropriate.

Required Experience

Hard skills:

• Proven experience as a software developer with strong proficiency in Rust.

• Solid experience with Java development and integrating Rust with Java applications.

• Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control (Git), and agile workflows.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Soft skills:

• Experience in systems programming or performance-critical applications.

• Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks is a plus.

• Open-source contributions in Rust or Java projects.

Other requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.

• Willingness to work 2 days per week onsite in Brussels (hybrid model).
